Writing Style Tips and Pointers

Let’s talk about writing style! In nearly every job I have had whether it be marketing or advertising I almost always was in charge of the company blog and social media outlets. Writing style is very important but also needs to be catered to the companies target audience.

Knowing how to speak to your target audience is key when writing blogs and social media posts. I will focus on blogging here because this is where you are doing the most writing.

Working in different industries from weddings and events to forensic technology and real estate I have had a wide plethora of experience when it comes to catering your message to an audience. For instance, in weddings and events the message tends to be less formal than in the real estate and the forensic technology industry. Along with this, the content always differs. I had to learn how to adapt my writing style in these different industries and I learned a lot on how to tweak my approach in each industry.

I learned that understanding your audience and the type of message that they want to hear is crucial. Understanding is the first step in figuring out what they want and how to speak to your audience in a way that captivates them, and eventually will make them want to do business with you.
